Why last month’s profit does not change when a cost does

Costs are a timeline: each order uses the cost in force on its day.

If a supplier raises a price on the 14th and you enter it on the 20th, orders from the 20th use the new price. Orders before it keep the old one. A period spanning a change is costed in two parts, not averaged.

Before the first cost you ever entered for a variant, its orders use your percentage. Profflow does not reach backwards and invent a history.
