Paid through Shopify Payments, the same 30% of sales would carry no Shopify fee: €90.00 a month.
01 / How it is worked out
The arithmetic, in the open
Sales are split between Shopify Payments and the other gateways by the share you type, and so are the orders. Each part is charged its percentage of the money it carried and its fixed amount per order.
On the other gateways’ part, Shopify adds its own transaction fee at your plan’s published rate. The plan’s price and the apps are added as they are. The total is shown in money, per order and as a share of sales.
It is a month’s estimate from your rates. On a connected store each order’s fees are read from the payment providers themselves.
02 / Questions
What people ask with it
What is Shopify’s transaction fee?
A fee Shopify charges on orders paid through a gateway other than Shopify Payments — PayPal, Klarna, Mollie and the like — on top of what that gateway charges. It falls as the plan rises: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced, 0.2% on Plus. Orders paid through Shopify Payments do not carry it.
Which card rate should I type?
The one in your Shopify admin under Settings → Payments, for your plan and country. Shopify Payments rates differ by country and plan, and online and in-person rates differ too.
Are these all the fees?
They are the ones that scale with sales, plus the plan and the apps. Currency conversion, chargeback fees, payout fees and Shopify’s own taxes on its invoice can add to them; a connected store sees the actual amounts.
How does Profflow show this on a connected store?
It reads what each payment provider actually kept from each order, and Shopify’s fee at the store’s own plan, and takes them out before anything is called profit.
