01 / How it is worked out
The formula
Formula
Contribution of the orders the ads brought ÷ ad spend
Example
Had every one of the example store’s 68 orders in July 2026 come from its ads, they would have kept €4,106 against €1,180 of ads: a profit ROAS of 3.48×.
02 / Why it matters
What it changes in a decision
Profit ROAS reads the same orders as ROAS but counts what they left, not what they sold. It answers the question ROAS only seems to answer: did this money come back?
Above 1× the ads paid for themselves and something towards fixed costs; at 1× they broke even; below it they lost money.

Where it is used
Ads on margin
Every campaign judged on what its orders kept, not on what the platform claims.
Open →Channel profit
Which channel brought margin, not clicks — each judged on its own orders.
Open →Next: Cost per acquisition (CPA)
What the ads cost for each order they brought. The most an order can cost is what it contributes before ads.
